There are a few things you need to know before continuing on with this post:

Sarah & Roger are our first official post on this new blog!
Sarah & Roger are high school sweethearts.

Sarah & Roger are ridiculously adorable.
Sarah & Roger wanted a red barn style country engagement shoot….

I fell in love with this old truck instantly…

I spotted these power lines as we drove to the barn and made everyone stop on the way back. Worth it!

Not to be cynical (but I will), but the photograph with the ring sitting on the barbed wire is not only striking but poetic (even ironic).

    Hey Nate & Becka!
Congrats on the new blog! I love it. And I especially enjoy these engagement pics with the country background:) Great work you two!

@Danni… Thanks so much! Nate actually took that ring shot and no we didn’t necessarily plan it ahead. We had never seen the location until the session because Sarah had found it just a few days before the session. For ring shots like that we usually just walk around and look for things that we think will make awesome shots. Sometimes our couples help out, like with the shot in the header of the ring in the middle of a bunch of bullets. We borrowed those, it’s not like we just stumble upon piles of bullets. That would be scary. ;)

Yay! I finally got my fix! Thanks Becka! I needed it!

I love how comfortable their love is, and as always how you capture it! The ring picture fits perfectly with the session and the couple. Do you plan ahead or do you wait for an idea to hit during the session? Congrats on the new blog!
