Erica & Brent | Engagement Photos in an Abandoned Theme Park
Erica and Brent are our new muses. They are both way cooler than Nate and I so we get bumped up a notch by association. These two nearlyweds own one of the coolest places to have a brew in Orlando, Red Light Red Light. When we first met with them Nate brought up the idea of shooting their engagement session in an abandoned theme park. When they answered yes without even thinking twice, we knew this was a match made in heaven.
Nate firmly believes that this is our best photo shoot to date and literally draped himself over my shoulder the entire time I was sorting through these images going “Oh my gosh, Becka…. Oh! Oh… look at that one…” I know that Erica and Brent are to blame. Not only did they look drop dead amazing and had a great chemistry and adventurous spirit, but they were also willing to risk being chased out by police to shoot in the one place we knew would be perfect for their session. When I emailed Brent to confirm the date and time (and double check their bravery) his response was, “I don’t think there’s any other way to celebrate an engagement and coming wedding than with a little breaking and entering!” (Note: We didn’t actually break anything, the door was wide open. And there was no official signage telling us to stay out. That’s as good as a neon WELCOME sign as far as we’re concerned.)
I was actually the big baby since I’m a goody two shoes and practically jumped at every snap of a branch or chirp of a bird as we wandered through the abandoned theme park overgrown with flora and artistically enhanced with graffiti. But Erica and Brent were down for anything (and Nate was like a kid in a candy shop) and because of that we got some of the most epic engagement photos we’ve ever taken. I CANNOT wait for their wedding next year!

Welp, these are amazing. AWESOME job!
OMG!!! It looks more interesting now than it did when it was a functioning park :) The light in the pictures is so fantastic!!!! Love it!!
Drooling at my screen looking at these fabulous pictures! I think I might need a bib.
@Megan… it would be a kick a$$ place for a “Trash the Dress” ;)
Very neat photos!! This woulda been really cool for our shoot, wish we had known about it! Not that I don’t LOVE LOVE LOVE our shoot though ;)
That field shot with the flare looks like a slice of rural heaven. So awesome!
abandoned amusement parks kick ace!!!!
best.engagement.shoot.ever.
My favorite is the “Who even knows? Not me” portrait. Beautiful- and where the heck is that??
These are super rad. What a fun location and adorable couple. Great style!
I thought for sure I’d be the first one with the right answer! But do I get bonus points for knowing the NAME of the abandoned amusement park? I went there on a 6th grade field trip, that’s the only way I would have thought “Great Wall in Orlando?” Love it!
. Nice shots, love the one under the awning, with them in the broken circle! A new scene I haven’t seen in there. Check out my skating pics in there in the Verbs section of my site, and blog!
What a fabulous place to shoot! You guys are so creative, I love it. And I LOVE Erica’s outfit!
These are my favorite photos of two of my favorite people! Multiple high fives!

@Jensey Thanks!
You guys. Seriously. I can’t stop looking at this post. :)
Awesome session guys! We did moving portraits at our engagement sessions this weekend too!!!! So much fun! Love the great wall of china. High five to you both!
@Lynn We thought the same thing. It was surprisingly clean. We think that the city is secretly maintaining it a bit.
THE GREAT WALL!
LOVE these photos. Love Erica and Brent even more. (Erica baked a ton of mini-cupcakes for my husband’s and my one-year wedding anniversary!)
Beautiful photos you two! And I love the music choice for the video ;) Gotta love Twilight!
Love them Becka! (and Nate!) Reading the description, I thought it would be a little grungier at the park. You need to come visit Detroit some time! Beautiful images, the light is amazing. Love the one in the amphitheater!
Would that be the Great Wall of Orlando-China? What a fabulous idea for a location.
@Liz… nicely done! And at record time! ;)
Great Wall of China ;)
These are freaking AMAZING!!!!! Love them all
