Natalie and Danny’s wedding was the first day of the rest of my life as a photographer. “Why the melodramatic opening line?” you may ask. Well, it’s because this was the first event that I got to shoot using the Canon 5D Mark II + 50mm f/1.2L and it was magic. My world was opened up to new possibilities and I got to see what a big difference equipment makes. Nate and I are huge advocates of the theory that photographers should be able to take amazing shots with any equipment but, you really can’t beat the quality of the images I have been able to take with this little machine. Of course clients like Natalie and Danny help…
Natalie and Danny had a gloriously romantic wedding and reception at the Heathrow Country Club in Lake Mary. Every detail was gorgeous and Natalie and Danny have taken a spot of one of our all time favorite couples to shoot. You may remember them from their engagement session in St. Augustine. They are both so much fun, completely in love with each other, and not afraid to be vulnerable and goofy in front of us or our cameras.
I wish I had the words to tell you how much fun their reception was. The entire crowd danced, and by danced I mean they were fire burning on the dance floor! This wedding was one for the record books. Thank you so much Natalie, Danny, family and friends for inviting us into your lives and making us feel so welcomed. We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed making them…

My favorite detail: guests poured one scoop of sand into each vase prior to the ceremony. The vases were then carried to the altar.

I love the getaway car shot. Awsome! And gorgeous groom shots (the bride is beautiful too, but sometimes she – not Natalie in particular, but bride in general – gets all the camera love.) Excellent job with the balance here!

This is amazing. I love the lighting on the garter (I think?) moment. And the symbolism between the older hands and theirs made me want to cry! You know you’ve reached your ideal when you move people emotionally.
