Things to be happy about today…
// That there are FINALLY good shows on TV again. (Three cheers for the Fall Lineup: Gossip Girl, So You Think You Can Dance, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Office…) All the new seasons have been starting this week and my DVR is once again full of delicious smutty goodness. Thank God.
// That Starbucks is fully stocked with Pumpkin Lattes again! Now begins the countdown until the oh-so-magical RED CUPS make their appearance!
// That the Today Show is so wonderful. Because it’s news, but it’s almost always positive news shared by jovial people. The other morning I was editing photos while watching the Today Show and for about 10 minutes they cut to local news (“Here’s what’s going on in your neck of the woods…”) And the local news was all “5 people murdered in cold blood… Orlando named one of the worst cities to raise a family… Hit and run suspect still at large… The story of a woman who was grabbed and forced into an attackers car…” Then the Today Show came back on and was all “How the Recession is finally ending… The top 5 best foods for your brain… The top 10 fall fashion trends… A young student making a difference…” And I was all… “HALLELUJAH FOR POSITIVITY (and fall fashion trends)!”
// That while I am extremely bad at it, I am being forced to learn how to say “No”. Because we are completely booked until December. And no, I can’t fit anything else in. And no, I don’t really feel like losing my mind. And while I hate to turn people down, or feel like I’m letting them down, I am starting to look at it in a positive way. (For example: HELL YEAH we’re booked till December!) And while I’m on the subject… PSA: We only have room for 1 more wedding in 2009 (if for some reason you are still without a photographer) and are almost halfway to capacity for 2010 weddings. Boom. Goes. The. Dynamite.
// That our BFFs had their 3D ultrasound today (and STILL have not uploaded a photo yet. *cough* SLACKERS *cough*) I don’t want to go into too much detail about their lives but they’ve been through hell during this pregnancy and are such amazingly dedicated parents, and I can’t believe that they got to see his little face today, and he’s going to have the most adorable nose in all the land, and I can’t wait to meet him, and now I’m about to cry…. I digress…
// Nate and I picked a wedding date. We haven’t really announced it but I’m sure that with a bit of sleuthing any of you could discover it. ;)
// That Etsy exists. And that within Etsy exists: Sarah Seven, Birdz n Beez, Show Pony and Holly Stalder.
// That we have such a great spot from where we live by Lake Lucerne for viewing lightningstorms…

@Sash :) That’s a good guess but no. I think we may have a part that day though just for fun.
Congrats on setting the date!! you guys are amazing!!! As far as wedding dates go, I’m just going to put this one out there: February 22, 2010? :) Best wishes to both!!
how about +a bajillion for pumpkin lattes! had one at our last client meeting and did a little dance in my chair.
@Megan I guess I’ll just HAVE to get them and try them out… for scientific research of course ;)
Trust me, I know they are the most comfy high heels out there, but the Very Galaxy is quite a bit stiffer than the Very Prives, so just be aware of that!! They are gorgeous though.. quite worth the pain! I can’t do 5″ heels for a couple hours of straight standing. Mad props to you!
@Megan HAHA. AYKM? Loubies are THE MOST COMFY high heels out there. I wear my Very Prives for hours and they don’t hurt. They are like little black and red miracles. ;) And yes the silver color is the one I have my eyes on but it really just depends on which dress I decide to buy. I’m torn between two right now. :/
Becka, the Very Galaxy is GORGEOUS! The silver color, I assume? Just remember how high they are and they might get uncomfortable if you’re for an extended period of time :) But, that’s always an awesome excuse to get a pair of cute back up flat sandals!
@Megan ;) Yes Loubies, haven’t decided which ones though. I really like the galaxy ones!
Thank god for The Office!!! I’ve missed good TV =)
I would guess the ‘undisclosed location’ on Dec. 4-6, but that seems so soon! Not that the wedding couldn’t be done that quickly, just that I remember you telling me it was going to be late 2010, possibly even 2011 when you first got engaged! My other guess is the Europe tour in October 2010 :) Are you going to wear Loubies for the big day?! Oh man, have I got some suggestions for you…
And OMG I LOVE Etsy. I think I have ordered 3 or 4 things off there in the past 2 weeks or so. And pumpkin spiced lattes are the reason for the season!!!
Hmm, I think I’m a pro at sleuthing. ;) And if you hit up Egypt too I just may be completely consumed with jealousy. Congrats on setting a date – it’s truly so exciting, and I can’t wait to watch your international travels/ wedding unfold. :)
I am happy about the boom goes the dynamite reference, and the fact that your wedding date is definitely not March 20,2010!
aaand boom goes the dynamite.
I love that I have a fellow Today Show watcher while editing. Though I must admit I turn it off at 10 and turn over to The Price is Right. Yep I am old.
