Update: Becka & Nate get Married Away
I don’t know why but recently I’ve been all about getting details nailed down for our nuptuals. Maybe it’s because it’s now officially October and that will be our wedding month next year. Maybe it’s because we keep getting awesome October 2010 inquiries that we have to turn down because… well… we’re going to be eating gelato on the coast and snacking on French wine and crepes. (It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it!) Or maybe it’s because I’m just so in love with the idea of a “PLANNED ELOPEMENT” that I can’t even stand it. Why don’t more people do this? Maybe I’ll become a “planned elopement” advocate and write a book. ;)
It’s been a while since I posted about our wedding and I keep getting questions about it so I thought I’d let everyone know what we’ve got in mind so far. Things may change, as they always do, but here’s what we’ve got planned as of now:
1. It’s going to be a planned elopement on the Amalfi Coast of Italy (exact ceremony location TBA)
2. Our ceremony will be outside.
3. There will be very few people there.
4. I’m not going to buy a “wedding dress”. There, I said it.
5. We probably won’t have flowers, unless we buy them at a market that day.
6. Nate is going to buy a gray suit.
7. Purple will be our accent color. (Cant’ you just imagine him in gray/purple?… mmmm.)
8. We’ll be getting some sort of tattoo to seal the deal.
9. We’re actually going on our honeymoon first so that we can spend time in Italy with our family that comes in for the ceremony.
10. Fear not ladies, there will be some amazing shoes. There’s a good chance they’ll have red soles.

eeeek we got married there in october too! (our anniversary is friday – weird. lol.) the fall is my favorite time of year in italy. it’s going to be so gorgeous. can i sneak in your suitcase?? :D
OOhhh fun!!! My sister is planning her wedding now, too. But it’s not in Italy. I can’t wait to see wedding photos. Your day will be so unique from what I’ve heard.

Oh Becka, I am so excited for you guys! Justin and I did France (well only Paris), Spain and Italy this summer. It was a blast and I know you guys will LOVE it! I’m so jealous, I wish I could do it all over again!

Ahhhhh, yep that’s it, just a really big nice relaxing sigh! Because I know it will be magical! I’m so excited for you guys! This is what I wish we were doing, especially after the week I have had dealing with vendors! Maybe I can do a 10yr anniversary vow renewal?!….hmmmm
@Morgan We’re all about photographing elopements. We’re bringing a photographer along with us too. If you do decide to scrap your plans, we’ll come along to whatever SoCal beach you’d like ;)
@Megan We’ll be going all through Europe (France, Spain, Switzerland) and maybe even Egypt if we can swing it before ending up in Italy. I’m so excited!
So where is the honeymoon at?
It sounds completely fabulous! If I had a dollar every time I thought about just canning the whole deal and eloping on a beach in SoCal… but then we wouldn’t have you guys to photograph :)
@Lindsey 1. Yes please. We have some ideas but nothing that has really been “IT” yet. 2. Yes I will wear a dress, just not by a wedding designer. I want to buy a designer gown, maybe BCBG? 3. Thanks. That’s exactly what we thought too. :)
@Carrie Yeah, we decided to just use the money to do what WE really wanted. :)

1. I have an idea for the tatoo but if I tell you and you like it, it means I’ll have to get it first. :)
2. Are you still going to wear a dress of some sort, just not a cliche wedding dress? (I envision something ivory and simple and flowy, while you have your ceremony on some cliffs overlooking the beautiful deep blue Mediterranean seas…)
3. I am so. freaking. jealous. This is totally how I’d get married if I were to do it again. Europe and all.
