Tuesdays with Nate | Partnerships
Oh hai.
It’s Tuesday again, and I know last week wasn’t the most “exciting” or “hilarious” post I’ve ever done, but it was a long time coming. Becka and I have been busier than ever before. In the next 12 days, we will have shot 4 weddings and 2 portrait sessions in 4 cities, and we will be ready to go on our vacation to San Francisco! It hit me last night (while talking to my Mommy) that Thanksgiving will be here in about 7.34 seconds and we’re planning on hosting. Considering the crazy schedule, and the fact that my last masterpiece was 2,000 words, I’ll spare you a comprehensive essay on how fantastic my new Magic Mouse is and be brief today.
Let’s talk for a few minutes about teamwork, nay… partnerships. During the most recent wedding we’ve shot, I stepped outside of the reception for a few minutes to take some pretty awesome halloween themed ring shots. I was just about out of breath (I often end up gasping after my ring shots because I have been holding it to stay steady) and completely enthralled in my shot when I heard the DJ announce the anniversary dance. I didn’t even consider exhaling. I knew my beautiful partner would be in there, waiting and ready to get every crucial detail. Trust in your team and confidence in your partners is essential to any relationship, professional or personal, and it’s one of the things that makes me so proud and grateful to work with Becka.
I’m writing this while watching Monday Night Football, and if you watch Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints play when they are firing on all cylinders, it’s thing of beauty. They all trust each other, they know the strengths and weaknesses, when to help, when to hope, and they do it when it counts.
(Another fun fact about our partnership…. At every wedding, without fail, I insist that Becka dance with me at least once.)

@Mich Neither of us feels like we need to stay in Orlando forever, but neither of us is looking to move either. I guess it’s best to say that we’re open to any opportunities. I would like to live somewhere a bit cooler where I could wear boots and scarves sometimes but Nate is a complete beach guy so who knows ;)
Love the picture! Here’s a question for both of you: Do you plan on living (and shooting) in Orlando forever? Do you ever get bored with the flat landscape and not having brightly colored trees in the background of your photos?

You just put yourself way up there in my book for mentioning the Saints! The way Sean Payton and Drew Brees work together is truly inspirational! Not to forget the trust in the other players as well.
