Disney Wedding at the Croquet Lawn | Becky & Jeff
Croquet Lawn | Disney Boardwalk Wedding | Orlando, Florida
I grew up with Disney. Well… Disney and Dawson’s Creek. I believe they are both are fully responsible for many of my views on the world. (And my use of the word “persnickety”. Does anyone else remember when Pacey calls Joey that and she gets all persnickety about it?) I started singing that song from The Little Mermaid (Did you know my mom wanted to name me Ariel? Well that and Daniel. They thought I was going to be a boy. Surprise!) about her trinkets and whats-ists and Nate didn’t know what I was singing. He also has never seen the old Disney cartoon version of Alice in Wonderland. Did he even have a childhood? I can’t be sure. And I’m fairly certain that the Disney magic is completely lost on him. (I’m the one that starts crying every time I see the Magic Kingdom’s Wishes fireworks show. (How can you not cry? It’s magical. You Robot!) I grew up watching Aladdin every day. I grew up with the old 101 Dalmatians…. the one where you can actually see the sketchy lines from where it was illustrated by hand. Remember?
And with all my Disney movie love, I’ve only ever been to the Magic Kingdom a handful of times. And no, we don’t have season passes. Nate and I just aren’t that Disney-ish. And I think that’s why we have such a good time shooting weddings and engagements there. Because we can view everything with outside eyes. We can see things that others might not because they’ve seen it so often. But I will warn you, I’ll probably break out in song at some point. I can’t help it. Disney songs are the soundtrack I grew up on. :)
Speaking of growing up… do you have a favorite Disney movie that you can still watch over and over again, even as an adult?
On to Becky and Jeff…

You can see more images from their First Look and hear Jeff’s thoughts about it in our Brenda’s Wedding Blog Feature.

Becky’s magical green pinwheels were created by Shelley at Fairytale Weddings. What a fabulous job!

And one last shot on the Disney Boardwalk (work it out Becky!)…

We feel especially flattered and loved by our Disney brides. We are not contracted Disney photographers, which means that we are not allowed in the parks at all to photograph. So all of our Disney brides make us feel especially loved when they bring us in to capture the parts of their wedding day that are outside of the theme parks. If you are a bride planning a Disney Wedding and would like us to creatively capture the parts of your day that are outside the parks, contact us with your date and your plans.

beautiful details
beautiful, yet again! pinwheels…so cute! would’ve never thought of that. Disney movie I’d watch over and over and over?- Aladdin. ‘you ain’t never had a friend like me!’
That ring shot is simply amazing! LOVE IT!! (the pinwheels are cute too!)
Definitely remember the persnickety argument.
And I will always be a kid when it comes to Disney. I love Little Mermaid and Lion King, but I can’t believe no one has mentioned Aladdin! What a fun movie to sing along to! And even though those three are top three, I love Belle from Beauty and the Beast. My ex wrote a poem about how I was the beauty and he was the beast in high school… I got so embarrassed!
Fantastic! This couple is adorable and your photos are divine.
Thanks everyone!
My favorite Disney movie is Toy Story, non-Pixar movie is A Goofy Movie :-)
I can see Wishes from my living room and I still tear up over it!
I got the droid cover online, just googled green droid cover lol, it’s pretty cheap and I think I am going to replace it soon, I love that you got a shot of it though!
Saudade- I can’t wait for your wedding!
LOVE the last shot! Super cute wedding :) At least gossip girl kinda fills the dawson creek void…well it does for me at least. Beauty and the Beast…over and over…no doubt!
I think the ring inside the ring is my new favorite ring shot!!! =)
@Khristen I love the Lion King soundtrack too. It’s definitely one of, if not, the best. And perhaps Becky will chime in and let us know where she got that green phone cover. :)
Disney’s just jealous you guys are better than their photographers.
I was just thinking about Dawson’s Creek the other day — I DEFINITELY MISS THAT SHOW! I’ve always wanted a Dawson growing up close to me or even next door!
LOVE the boardwalk…LOVE the pinwheels…LOVE disney!! I couldn’t pick a disney movie as my fav…but I love the lion king and little mermaid’s soundtrack best! And I’d love to know where she got a gggggrrrreeeennnn droid cover- thats sweet!
I absolutely LOVE this couple!!! By the way, I still have most if not all your disney video’s from when you were little.. Just sayin…
Yay! I just love how Becky’s wedding turned out, and you guys did an awesome job capturing the moment. Bringing in someone with fresh eyes was a factor Andrei and I discussed and appreciate.
About my favorite movie? It would have to be Sleeping Beauty, it has beautiful music, and a cool dragon battle thrown in, plus the angular art style it is drawn in isn’t something you see that often anymore.
I too get misty eyed during Wishes, which BTW will have a big part at the end of our party in February, we will have to talk about it and plan something cool with that, I’ll drop you a line.
@Andie I do wish that Disney revised their policies. It’s really not fair for the brides. I hate not being able to cover receptions and fireworks parties. Perhaps one day. :)
Love it! Don’t feel bad that you aren’t Disney photographers. I’ve worked for them before and they suck. You guys are 100 times better and probably get paid a whole lot more!! I’m sure they charge their brides a boat load for photography and then only pay the photographer minimum wage. Oh yeah and they probably mandate what shots they can take.
