Friday Daydreaming | Summer Smoky Mountain Getaway
I stumbled across this website called Your Cabin which is a vacation rental site for cabins in Gatlinburg and throughout the Smoky Mountains. And I instantly started dreaming up a summer getaway to the mountains. There are tons of cabin rentals to choose from, with wood beam ceilings, ridiculously reasonable prices (especially if you go in a group and share), and jacuzzi’s on the back patios. My imagination started reeling with visions of white wine on a wood beam porch at sunset, road tripping up through the curvy mountain roads in our little silver Vibe, grilling out on the back porch, endless miles of starry night skies, birds chirping in the morning, hiking and waterfall finding, and relaxing with friends. I’m not trying to pressure anyone, but July is pretty open for us. ;) Where do you daydream of going this summer?

This sounds divine! We are doing something similar this July, camping near the Waynesville area of western NC. I just love the Smoky Mountains. Your cabin dealio sounds like an even better idea. I don’t know why I thought it would be a good idea to camp at 7 months pregnant…. Moonshine Creek Campground IS the best though.

yeah…i went for a winter getaway. 3 days and 2 nights was NOT enough time. plan for a week, at least. there’s so much to do around there!
We will already be in Knoxville for the 4th of July sooo…… why not make it a group trip and cabin it up!?!?! I hear white water rafting and river tubing in our future!

Also, we used to live in Highlands, NC…a GREAT spot to vacation! You should check into that area too…

Some friends of ours have been trying to get us all into renting a cabin and going into the mountains for the summer. We keep planning and somehow it always falls down the wayside, mostly because we all end up going on cruises instead haha!
But yeah, living in FL we are all mountain deprived. Andrei loves just staring at them and keeps talking about going on a mountain trip when it is snow season so we can experience this “snow thing people from the North speak of” but he is an islander so… he really has it bad
@Courtney When you grow up with the beach as your backyard, it’s a bit boring as a vacation spot. LOL. Let’s do a home swap. You can come stay here and enjoy the beach, and we’ll go stay up there and enjoy the mountains! ;)

Oh my word. All I want to do this summer is go somewhere. Tennessee is actually at the top of my list!
No way! My friends and I booked a cabin this past week in Gatlinburg for the beginning of May! We found a great deal on a cabin. Not to mention a zip line and white water rafting combo! Can’t wait! You guys should totally do it!
Aww it’s so funny that you are trying to travel outside of Florida full of beaches and see the mountains when I’d like to drive away from the mountains and visit the beach! :) Gatlinburg is great though. It’s a perfect getaway with those amazing chalets!
