Wedding Inspiration | October Abroad

by Becka on April 8th, 2010

I’ve been hesitant to really talk that much about our upcoming wedding, but since so many of you left me comments on our blog survey the other day asking me about it, I figured I’d take some time out to talk a bit more about it. I feel a bit silly because I don’t really have much to say. We haven’t bought anything or picked out anything or reserved anything. I know, it’s only 6 months away but at the same time, it’s still 6 months away. Nate and I are still trying to decide what we want to do as far as airports, hotels, and if/when we’ll have a party when we get back. The whole wedding requires very little planning as we’re pretty much running away to Europe and then meeting a few people there for our ceremony and then all going out to dinner somewhere yummy. (Salerno is in the Campania region which is known for it’s amazing cuisine.) And, more than anything else… part of me likes keeping our plans secret. But, here’s some wedding related stuff I’m really loving right now…

clockwise: I’m seriously leaning toward a custom Sarah Seven dress. | And maybe adding some Twig & Honey English Garden Roses as a belt. | I adore this Drifting Dress from Anthropologie for sipping cappuccinos at an outdoor cafe. | Everything from J.Crew‘s Fall 2010 preview has me swooning, and would make for great daywear on our honeymoon. Temps are supposed to be in the 60′s – 70′s. |  I’m still looking for the perfect pair of shoes but these metallic Louboutin’s would be a welcome addition to my collection. | Nate wants to procure a gray suit for the occasion. I love the cut of this one by J.Crew. | This weekend we’re adding a Polaroid SX-70 to our camera collection and I’m excited to take it traveling with me. | I’ve been to Italy twice now and have still never rented a Vespa. We might have to explore the sights Roman Holiday-style this time.

@Katie, aw, well that’s good news. I might cry if they were closed for good. ;)

Like our timing just sucked kinda closed. You should be good = )
(Sorry about the delay. While I check your site WAY too often, I don’t always check comments)

@Katie Like, closed forever or just for remodeling or something? I cant’ even imagine them not being open when we’re there.

Gerry’s was closed the whole time we were there! Nettuno just reopened and is better than ever. Better go to both to be on the safe side; there’s no such thing as too much gelato! Unfortunately Marko’s restaurant closed = ( Cici’s is on Gerry’s side of town; I can find out exactly where if you want. If you want to know other good places discovered along the way, let me know!

hello love! saw you mention wedding in my twitter window and had to come over and check it out being that we are Italy wedding buddies and all. Nick wants to don a grey suit as well and we definitely had vespa rental on our must-do list. We should have an Italy wedding chat over coffee next time you are in Tampa!

@Katie We’ll go to Nettuno for coffee but I’m gonna have to take Nate to Gerry’s for gelato. I hope they’re still open! :)
