MCO > LAS

We are very excited to be going to Vegas this week to attend our first WPPI. WPPI is the annual international convention for wedding and portrait photographers and we’re going to be 2 of over 15,000 that descend upon the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. During the day we’ll be visiting some of the platform classes, making the rounds on the tradeshow floor to meet the vendors we’ve been using, hopefully finding some awesome new stuff to offer our clients, eating way too much (so Nate has more stuff to review on his up and coming food blog), getting our own engagement photos shot by Jeff, and meeting as many people as we possibly can. And by night, well… let’s just say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Just kidding, we’ll be good. ;)

Yes I colored and threaded the map myself. And yes I forgot that I had yellow till about halfway through. ;)

Thank you to everyone who left me sweet and encouraging notes here and on Facebook when I opened up a bit to you all. I really didn’t expect the volume of notes you all took the time to write me and it meant more to me than you can know. Thank you.

For all of you who aren’t photographers or who are photographers that aren’t able to go to Vegas this year, we’ve got you covered… We’ve got a bunch of blog posts on deck that are ready to go live throughout the week for your perusing pleasure. I’m kind of an introvert so I’ll probably be attached to Nate’s hip most the time. And Nate is an extrovert so he’ll probably be bouncing all over the place at the speed of light. :) We want to meet as many people as humanly possible!

Thursday: leaving early in the morning :)

We will be gone Thursday – Sunday and will begin returning all emails and voicemails in the order they were received when we return to the office on Monday, Jan. 18th. Also, as a general public service announcement we would like to announce that our schedule through March is extremely packed with 4 out of state trips, weddings, portrait sessions, and meetings. We will do our best to always return calls and emails in a timely fashion, however due to the nature of our schedule response times will be slower than normal for the next few months. I’m back! It’s been a few weeks since I have written my usual Tuesdays With Nate post and it’s nice to be back. This is going to be short and sweet in the writing department because Becka has edited a ton of our photos from our trip to California last week and I want to show them off. (Especially the last one. It’s pretty spectacular if you ask me.) We had a great time on the trip. It was Becka’s first time out on the west coast so I got to endure enjoy her constant elations about how perfect, beautiful, and so very “us” everything was. San Francisco reminded her very much of Salerno, which is pretty much her favorite place on earth, so she was in love from the moment we stepped off the plane.

We also recently signed the contract with our wedding photographer and next week I’ll be talking more about that and the process of choosing him/her so if you’ve got any questions about it let me know in the comments section.

Without further delay… our trip:

Becka LOVES airports, flying, and window seats. I think it’s super lame that even on a 5 hour flight you don’t get free snacks.

Becka and I loved the overcast weather. It seemed to fit the city.

Becka thinks her eyes are just plain brown. Little does she know that they actually change colors from almost black to rich red tones like this…

This is one of my favorite images I’ve ever taken.

The Jacuzzi Winery was Becka’s favorite and she is now DYING to shoot a wedding there. So, ya know… if you’re venue shopping…

Becka loved this guy’s sign.

We walked from our hotel at the Fisherman’s Warf to the bridge one morning. It was 5 miles and up and down hills. I was proud.

These street dancers were sick! I have a video too. This guy came right at me. I wish I had gotten their info. If you know them, get me in touch!

I’ll be honest. I’m really proud of this snapshot of Becka’s Uncle and cousin.

We both love birds so we got a bit over excited when we saw this bluebird. He was eating apple pieces out of a Japanese man’s hand.

Becka’s ring. She was teasing me that I’ve only ever taken one photo of it. Now theres 2.

Becka wanted to see the Redwoods so we rented a Mustang and drove to Big Basin.
