The Greatest Thing You’ll Ever Learn
Becka, Lake Superior
There was a boy. A very strange, enchanted boy.
They say he wandered very far, very far, over land and sea.
And then one day, one magic day he passed my way.
And while we spoke of many things, fools and kings, this he said to me:
“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”
Happy October.

Emily, How very kind! We fell in love with Michigan while we were up there. Thanks for saying hello! I hope you start saying hi even more so we can get to know ya. :)
Becka–I’m not even sure how I stumbled across your blog, but I’ve been a quiet observer of Nate’s and your work for about a year. I find your images inspiring (one couple you shot in a wildflower field next to an abandoned amusement park stands out). My latest obsession has been place–the natural world, in particular–and all the ways it can move us. Since Lake Superior might be the closest landscape we ever have in common (I’m in Minnesota), I felt compelled enough to say hi. And thanks. And happy congratulations: October is a lovely month to be anticipating so much joy.
Cheers!
