Long Island City, NYC

Our crazy talented friend Rachel is branching out in her career to pursue a long time dream of singing country music so new photos were needed and we were more than happy to visit the big apple again and make that happen. Rachel has been a friend of ours for a few years now and it’s been beyond amazing to watch her take over New York City as Wednesday Addams in the Broadway Show, The Addams Family. (She’s also played the role of Glinda in the show Wicked which pretty much sums up how awesome she is.) Her face is all over the city standing next to Brooke Shields in posters for the show and I’ll admit, we were a bit dorky taking photos of the posters when we saw them because, well, it’s pretty cool to see your friend on the side of a bus in New York City next to Brooke Shields in a photo that’s bigger than life. And, we’re trying to build up a good gallery of photos to sell to People Magazine after she wins her first grammy. Just kidding. Kind of. ;)

There’s Rachel, all bigger than life, as her character Wednesday Addams in the Times Square billboard for the show-

A few weeks ago we were honored to be invited to speak at the the Images for a Cure Workshop along with an extremely talented lineup of photographers and artists. We had an amazing time being a part of it all. On the first day we spoke on Connection which is something that Nate and I are extremely passionate about. Having our couples trust us enough to be vulnerable, open, and honest not only in their words but in their actions and interactions with each other is paramount to what we do in our photography. We don’t take the honor lightly as bearing witness to two people completely breaking down the barriers of “being strangers” before us is a very special thing. It is that type of experience that allows us to capture the details that we do, to see things other people might not see, and to capture genuine images of our couples instead of cheesy ones. To share our passion about the subject was very exciting.

On the second day we led a mock engagement shoot showing those that attended how we put into practice the things we spoke about the day before. Our group of photographers were simply amazing and the images they’ve shared with me from our time together are beautiful. We had Ashley and Manuel as our models for the afternoon and we could not have picked a better couple. Not only are they ridiculously gorgeous, but they really allowed us and our new photographer friends to see who they are as a couple. They got married at the same place where we were having our shoot so it was serendipitous all around. You may recognize Ashley from her oh-so-lovely illustrations at Ashley Brooke Designs. Check out her stuff, it’s incredible. She made us our “Robinsons” mug in this photo.

Monte Solaro | Capri, Italy

Monte Solaro is the highest point of the gorgeous island of Capri. I can’t even put into words what it feels like to be standing on top of it. To get there you have to take a ferry to the island, a tram from the port to the town square, a bus from one side of island to the other, then a rickety chair lift up to the very top. (You can see all our personal shots over on my personal blog.) Standing on the edge it is 1932 feet down to the Tyrrhenian Sea. There are no safety bars at the top to stop you from falling to the bottom. At the top it is just you, the sky, and the curve of the horizon. The huge cruise ships and freight barges look like little white specks. I’m doing it no justice talking about it. You must do whatever it takes in your life to visit.

Jeff and Kim met up with us in Salerno a few days before our wedding date. So we went on a little adventure to the island of Capri. Kim was such a trooper and I hope that I am as adventurous, beautiful, and bold as she is when I am pregnant. They took some photos of us and then we turned the cameras around and took some photos of them.
