Happy Tuesday! We’ve been in NYC all weekend. If you’ve emailed or called we’ll get back to you on Wednesday when we’re back in the office. And in the mean time, we’ll eat a Magnolia Bakery cupcake in your honor, because you’re worth it. ;)

Strategic Concerns, Updates, and Announcements…

Aug 9 at 2:22 pm

Have you seen our personal blog yet? It’s where I ramble about our adventures and life and what inspires us. It’s where we share personal work and just for fun work. It may be a bit hard to find as it’s not a standalone blog. It’s a blog within a blog and to get there you just have to click on the MUSINGS tab at the top or the PERSONAL POSTS button to the right. You can bookmark it or subscribe to it all on it’s own or just check in every now and then on your own accord. I just thought I’d make an official announcement in case you didn’t know about the party happening over there. You’re officially invited. ;)

In other news, we’ve decided to start allowing 2012 brides to put holds on dates in our calendar even though we are not officially booking for 2012 yet. This is the first time we’ve done something like this. Because of the tremendous number of you 2012 brides out there that are raring to go we wanted to extend this option for you. If you’d like more info fill out our contact form with your wedding date and some info about your plans.

Tomorrow Nate will be doing a Tuesdays with Nate post all about photography gear. (Are you as happy as I am that Tuesdays with Nate are finally back?!) So if you have a question about what we use, why we use it, what we wish we used, or the history of optics (just kidding, don’t ask us that) head over to our FORMSPRING page and ask us. And if you have a question that isn’t realated to gear feel free to ask us anyway. We always try to be as transparent as possible. And we love being able to so easily and quickly answer your questions. If you ever get a burning desire to ask us a quick question you can click on the button in the right sidebar as well to get back to the formspring page. :)

Also, if you’re itching for some eye candy goodness check back in on Wednesday when we’ll have the full wedding post for Justin and Megan’s French, garden-inspired outdoor wedding. The Dream Team was there, so you know it was good!

Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming on Wednesday:

In Front of the Lens | Our Engagement Images

Aug 5 at 2:22 pm

Las Vegas, Nevada

When we were in Las Vegas last spring we were able to meet up with our friend and photographer, Jeff Newsom for some portraits. I’m not going to lie, we had been arguing all morning and I was in no mood to have my pictures taken. It was a good reminder to me of what some of our couples might be feeling leading up to their sessions with us. However, Jeff took us on a mini adventure around the streets of the Las Vegas strip and with Cameron Ingalls hanging out along with us all, the afternoon went from frustrating to phenomenal in just a few short minutes.

It’s such a learning experience to have your photographs taken by another artist. To see how they move, and act. To hear what they say. And to see how they translate you into an image is mesmerizing. Jeff is a fantastic photographer, if you’ve ever seen any of his stuff you know how talented his is. And yet, to be around him is like hanging out with an old friend. He’s genuine and humble and funny. It was truly an honor to be photographed by him and we’re so excited to have him and his lovely wife with us in Italy this October.

I realized that we hadn’t ever officially shared our pictures with all of you, and since a few people recently asked me about it I thought this would be a good time. Here’s us… in front of the lens.

  • Jensey:

Becka, I want to look like you when I grow up! ;) Seriously… These are stunning, you guys. I can’t wait to see the *wedding* photos!!

  • Becka:

@Kathy These ones are by our friend, Jeff Newsom http://www.jeffnewsom.com :)

  • Kathy Altman:

What beautiful images . . . you both have such the talent . . . awesome!

  • Saudade:

I love how he managed to isolate you in a city like Vegas, it looks as if you were the only two people in the world. My favorites are the ones with the two of you sitting on the median and the color one with you smiling and Nate looking at the camera, just too cute.

  • Sherrie:

Yellow’s my favorite! You two look totally in a moment even though you’re in the middle of a Las Vegas street with cars zooming by!! =)

  • Becka:

    @Dyan Holy crap! CONGRATS! :)

  • Dyan:

gorgeous!!!! you guys are so adorable!! and I really hope to get to work with you guys! :) ps-I JUST got engaged last night so as soon as I start some planning, expect an email from me! ;)
