Black Diamond Ranch | Lecanto, Florida

There are some people who, even after only meeting them briefly, make you feel as if you’ve always been family. Sarah is that beautiful trait personified. Call it southern hospitality. Call it whatever you like. Sarah embodies it and showers that welcoming, embracing warmth over everyone she meets. The love in her eyes for Roger can be seen from miles away and the silent strength and security they find in their relationship is inspiring just to be near. Not only did Sarah and Roger let us free to create and document, they welcomed us completely and made us feel like part of the family. We are so completely spoiled and blessed by our clients.

I’m so excited to finally share this wedding with all of you!  I feel like this has been a long time coming. I can still remember first speaking with Sarah on the phone months and months ago. I remember her telling me about her plans and their venue and having no idea what to expect. (Because honestly, Lecanto isn’t really a well-known location here in Florida.) But, when we got there we felt like we had been transported for away. The ranch boasts a ceremony location overlooking a natural limestone quarry. (Think: CLIFFS IN FLORIDA!) Sarah left no detail behind and blew us away with her cozy yet elegant rustic decor (most of which was DIY) and with Lauren Grove of The Design Grove coordinating the day, there was nothing but smooth sailing.

We were kind of in love with the quarry and the wind. They were kind of in love with each other. ;)

This reminds me of a children’s storybook. The light coming through those trees with glorious.

We got assaulted by sandspurs during portrait time so we decided to give them a starring role in our ring shot.

I loved the place cards! Sarah even had two made for Nate and I. We felt so special!

Almost all of our Oct/Nov weddings have had the Florida games playing at some point. I think this was the moment they won.

Black Diamond Ranch | Lecanto, Florida

This weekend we had the joy of shooting Sarah and Roger‘s wedding at the is-this-a-dream gorgeous Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. Sarah did an amazing job and with the help of Lauren Grove of The Design Grove coordinating, there was no detail that wasn’t absolutely beautiful. From DIY glittered pumpkins, to a barn window seating chart, to candlelit mason jars, to customized bottle cap magnets with the happy couple’s images inside!  The morning before we left for the wedding I decided to check the mail and I found the sweetest note from Sarah. I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing a few lines from it because it just melted my heart and made both Nate and I so excited for the day ahead and so thankful for the amazing people that photography brings into our lives:

I can’t wait for Roger & I’s big day because I know you two will make it memorable! I’m so excited that we get to work with you! Photos were the most important part of the day for me, so I spent over a year looking for the perfect photographers. Your work is amazing and you really are one of a kind. I count myself blessed and lucky that we will be sharing our special day with you!

Sarah and Roger, we are the ones you count ourselves blessed and lucky! Thank you so much for treating us like part of your family the entire day! Thank you for gifting us 2 hours for portraits before the ceremony! Thank you for going on a mini adventure with us and finding cows, perfectly lit golden fields, strange rusted farm machinery, and lots of sandspurs. Thank you for trusting us and giving us such a big part of your day. We had so much fun. Your wedding was completely beautiful and I cannot wait to finish the rest of the pictures and show you what an amazing job you both did celebrating the perfect wedding.
