Wedding at the Dr. Phillips House, Lake Lucerne | Sherrie & Shawn Sneak Peek
Dr. Phillips House, The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne | Orlando, Florida
Sherrie and Shawn, who you may remember from such engagement posts as The One with “The Car” are two of the best people you’ll ever meet. Down to their core, they are loving and open and unafraid to be passionately happy with each other no matter who is watching. Humble and sincere, they welcomed friends and family into downtown’s lovely historic inn, The Dr. Phillips House at the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne for an intimate evening. This is the first wedding we shot after returning from WPPI in Vegas and we can definitely tell a difference in our shooting. Nate and I were both pushing ourselves the entire day to create new dialects of the artistic language we each already communicate with and we are extremely happy with the resulting story. Does anyone else notice a difference in their work after returning from big conventions or workshops? Do thinks like that make you feel inspired or overwhelmed? I’m also really excited to be back to regularly scheduled blogging. I’ve missed this connection to you all! You’re like my interweb family. :) We are ancy to pour over the rest of the images and share them with everyone but until then, enjoy these teaser frames…

I shot these with Nate’s new 85 1.2. Jury’s still out on how I feel about that lens. But, you can’t argue with how creamy and lovely it is…

I’m a little partial to the 24 1.4, but that’s just me. I love getting my hands on that little baby. For reasons like this:

Happy Monday friends! Tell me, any big plans for the week? Any big changes you’re making since returning from Vegas? For you non-photographers are you doing your spring cleaning and refreshing thang? (If so, you’re more than welcome to spring clean your way over to our place! It’s a bit messy.)

That dress. Those shoes. Divine. I’m in love.
@Francine Christian Louboutin ;)
these are stunning!!! more please!!!
these photos are amazing as always!!! one question though… who makes those gorgeous shoes?! i literally gasped when i saw them!!! : )
First, Becka & Nate these are EXTRAORDINARY (but that word isn’t even good enough to describe what you guys did)!!!! Second…the white ring
Shawn took me to Vegas to propose but my ring wasn’t ready on time so he snuck off & bought me a black jade ring I’ve always wanted while we were there. “Opposites attract”, “ying & yang”… however you see it, he thought having the other end would complete “us” so he sought out a white ring that would match my black one! I love it because it’s unique & corky just like him!! =)
@Saudade Thanks for being so encouraging! :)
@Morgan I’m glad someone got my reference! :) And I don’t think there was symbolism. He just wanted something different and loved this. I know there’s more to the story involving a jade ring he got Sherrie and perhaps she’ll join in and share. His ring is ceramic.
Absolutely stunning. Love the shoes, love the white wedding band, love the glamour. Can’t wait for more!
Yay! So glad you guys made it back safely! These images are great! I’m curious about the white band myself. Great work guys!
I can definitely tell a difference! And what a wonderful difference it is!
I can’t wait to see you and Nate grow even better with all the inspiration and lessons you two brought back from WPPI.
After my first big graphic design conference my brain fell like it had been crammed full of new ideas, new inspiration, concepts, I wanted to jump higher… no… highest even ;-)
During the first week after coming back I felt a bit overwhelmed, but as I worked towards achieving goals and learning new things I just felt inspired and energized. Just keep the momentum going, remember what inspired you the most, what goals you want to achieve, work towards them and look forward to the next conference.
Wow, they are super glam! Her shoes are to die for.
I love the Friends reference and those shoes are TDF! Was there any symbolism in his choice of a white wedding band? I’ve never seen that before! So interesting!
WOW!! Beautiful!!!
