Being published is always exciting. We have little publishing milestone goals that we like to set for ourselves. For example, get published in Brides Magazine. We totally nailed that one last year. And when one of the editors contacted me for a creative groom’s cake photo for a story she was doing I had no idea that she would actually pick our photo as the cover photo for the story. I also had no idea that the story would headline of the front page of BRIDES.COM. And then all of a sudden a goal was reached that I didn’t even realize I’d had: be on the front page of Brides.com. Booyah! Thanks Erin & Alex for commissioning this awesome cake replica of your living room and to Party Flavors for making it come to life.

 

 

Cypress Grove Estate House | Orlando, Florida

Kristen and Eric met with us a while ago, but I still remember it because Eric was joking that their wedding was going to be all black and gold. To anyone else, that may sound like a fairly elegant color combination. But to young people living in Orlando the mention of the colors black and gold means only one thing: The UCF Knights. I remember Kristen smiling politely while shaking her head secretly behind him. They are both alumni of UCF and Eric is as diehard a fan as any I’ve ever met. On their wedding day I didn’t see much black and gold (except for Eric’s wedding band which he proudly showed me was chosen because of it’s special color combination) but I did see a love stronger than Eric’s love for his alma mater. I wanted to drop in quickly to share with you a few of my favorite moments from the day…

Grand Bohemian | Cypress Grove Estate House Wedding | Orlando, Florida

It’s a small world isn’t it? Megan went to high school with our good friend Phil. Phil also happens to be our Party Booth assistant. And Megan’s sister decided to surprise Megan by adding a Party Booth to her sister’s wedding. (You may remember the crazy video of all the frames they snapped that night!) By the time we got to the wedding it was like we were part of a big family reunion. But that’s just natural for them, they’re a welcoming bunch, and we felt like life-long family friends for the entire day. Our favorite kind of day. :)

Megan and Justin’s wedding was held at the Cypress Grove Estate House which is one of our favorite local venues. They also had a bunch of Dream Team members in attendance including coordinators Blush by Brandee Gaar, Tommy Murphy from Greenery Productions handling the decor, and some of our newest friends Ben from Kaleidoscope Event Lighting and the ladies of Beaute Speciale. And, to make things even more magical, Megan decided to flip flop the entire layout of her wedding in a way we’ve never seen before on the property by having her ceremony where the receptions normally are and her reception spilling across the entire back lawn. It was perfection. Oh wait… real perfection arrived when a Jeremiah’s Italian Ice cart appeared and started doling out scoops of heavenly icy goodness. The perfect thing for a balmy Florida summer evening! We had so much fun celebrating and documenting and getting to be a part of such a fantastic day.
